Association of European Travel and Tourism Agencies (AETTA) was established in 1992 and counts today over one thousand members representing 47 countries. As a true testimony to the globalised nature of the travel and tourism industry almost 35% of our members come from outside of Europe. AETTA works with its members, legislators, governments, associations and other key stakeholders to contribute to the sustainable growth of the European travel and tourism sector.
AETTA's key strength is its in-depth knowledge of the travel and tourism sector in Europe. Our panoramic view of our industry comes from the collective knowledge of our members and our interacton with key decision-makers at European and national levels. For that reason we are in a unique position to collect and disseminate industy knowledge and intelligence among our members. This process is assisted by our five working research groups dedicated to travel security and safety, competition, environment, infrastructure and transport areas.
The General Assembly is the highest governing body of AETTA. The decisions taken by the General Assembly are executed by the Secretary General under the supervision of the President.
